Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By installing or using Cite Me (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app. You must be authorized to act on behalf of the Shopify store on which you install it.

2. The service

Cite Me analyzes your store content to predict its citability in AI search engines, and helps you generate and optimize on-page content, FAQs, blog articles, and structured markup. It operates at Protected Customer Data Level 0 and does not read your orders or customers. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

4. Your content & approvals

• You retain all rights to your store content and any content you publish.
• Generated content is a draft; you choose whether to publish it, and you are responsible for its accuracy and legality once published.
• Optimizations are applied only after your action and are reversible; you may undo them at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app: no attempts to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the service; no use to generate unlawful, infringing, or deceptive content; and no use in violation of Shopify's terms or applicable law.

6. Billing

Paid plans are billed through Shopify's managed billing according to the plan and interval you select. Fees are charged via your Shopify invoice. You can change or cancel your plan from within Shopify; charges already incurred are non-refundable except where required by law.

7. Third-party services

The app relies on Shopify, Anthropic, and Google (Gemini / Imagen for generation, and optional Search Console / Analytics you connect). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages or changes.

8. Warranty disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cite Me and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app and uninstall it at any time. On uninstall we remove your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms or as required by Shopify or law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
